How to reach Bertinoro

FROM BOLOGNA, Marconi G. Airport

The closest international airport to the University Residential Centre, is located about 50km from Bertinoro and is well served by taxis and airport shuttle buses that readily connect it with the metropolitan city of Bologna. It takes about 1 and a half hour to reach the University Residential Centre from the airport. Our secretary office can easily organize transfers from and to the airport upon request. Below some possibilities

1) DIRECT PRIVATE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM BOLOGNA AIRPORT TO BERTINORO

The staff of the University Residential Centre in Bertinoro will organize shuttles from Bologna autostazione (bus stop nr. 25 – Piazza XX Settembre 6, 40121 – 5 minutes walking from Bologna train station) to Bertinoro. Two trips will be scheduled on June 30 at 4.00 pm and 5.30 pm. Other trip will be organized for the return to Bologna bus station after the end of the conference on July 3 at 8.00/8.30 am (to be confirmed). The journey from Bologna to Bertinoro takes approximatively one hour and a half.
There is the possibility to take a taxi from Bologna airport to Bertinoro; it costs approximately €150.

2) TRAIN & SHUTTLE (BOLOGNA-FORLI-BERTINORO)

The international airport of Bologna is about 6 Km far from Bologna Centrale railway station.
In 2019 the construction of the people mover should be finished. It is a very fast (about 7 minutes) and direct subway from Bologna airport to Bologna railway station (http://www.marconiexpress.it/il-tracciato).
The actual connection with Bologna Centrale railway station is Aerobus (http://aerobus.bo.it/en), a shuttle service run by Bologna’s local transport company, connecting the International airport with the city centre and the railway station. It runs every 11 minutes every day of the year; it costs €6 each way (purchasable online or onboard). The journey takes about 20 minutes and all information is detailed on the website www.aerobus.bo.it/en.

Forlì is one of the train stop along the railway from Milano to Bologna-Firenze-Rome-Napoli. Once at the Bologna train station, it is advisable to catch a regional train to Forlì (PLEASE AVOID BERTINORO-FORLIMPOPOLI TRAIN STATION) on the frequent “Piacenza-Ancona” railway line. A ticket costs €6. Alternatively, there are other kind of trains available, such as Intercity or the high speed Frecciabianca / Frecciarossa for a higher price (in the range 10-20 euros). Traveling by train from Bologna Centrale to Forli will take 30-50 minutes, depending on the train. There is a train approximatively every 30 minutes (see http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en).

Alternatively, you could catch one of the new shuttles from Bologna Airport to Forlì: see the line Bologna-Forlì-Cesena-Rimini that runs approximatively every two hours, at https://www.shuttleriminibologna.it/

Once at Forlì railway station is advisable to catch a taxi to reach the course venue. The rate is about 30 euro and it takes 20 minutes. Taxis are immediately out of Forli railway station. Otherwise you can contact the number +39 0543 31111

3) BY CAR

Bertinoro is located between the cities of Forlì and Cesena, next to the town of Forlimpopoli, and close to the regional main roads: via Emilia SS9 which crosses the whole Emilia Romagna, the highway A14 (Bologna-Taranto), the freeway E45 that runs to Rome. From Bologna take the Highway A14, exit at Forlì and follow the directions for Forlimpopoli/Cesena. After driving through the town of Forlimpopoli follow the directions for Bertinoro. Parking is free at the University Residential Centre.

FROM MILAN (Malpensa or Linate or Orio Al Serio (Milano Bergamo) Airports)

There are many trains scheduled daily that connect the railway station Milano Centrale to the Forlì railway station (again, have a look at http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en). Most of the solutions include a change of trains in Bologna Centrale and the journey takes about two hours. The line offers very frequent solutions. Fares vary from €30 to €50 according to the type of train and availability. At the Forlì train station is, of course, possible to take advantage of the shuttles organized by the staff of the University Residential Centre in Bertinoro.
